The Duncan Project
The dance work of Isadora Duncan returns to Galleri Duerr with the two of the original repertory pieces which have been rarely seen .
The Bacchanale 1903 to Gluck´s music Iphigenia en Aulide . This dance embodies the spirits of the dancing Maenads bringing divine frenzy to life through wine , merriment and chaos.
The Slow March 1914 to Schubert´s Grande March no.5. Isadora´s return to choreography after the tragic death of her children 1913.
Kathleen will introduce the two pieces and give background to Isadora´s inspiration . Isadora´s Art speaks to us today but not as she had thought? In her time it was Revolutionary and now it is a call for Peace.
Afterwards there will be time for discussion.
